Ellen Williams is Director of Advisory Services at Orion Global Solutions, a Salesforce implementation partner. She has over 25 years of advisory experience working with organizations from solo businesses to publicly traded companies. Starting in the early 1990s, she developed needs analyses with her clients to create a list of requirements that would allow them to successfully implement accounting software.
Through the early 2000s, Ellen expanded her knowledge to other types of software including MS Office, databases, and case management. As General Manager of The Systems Shop, she ran the office as well as assisted clients. She eventually left and launched a consultancy, this time focusing on something new, CRM.
Ellen received certification in SageCRM and supported several mid-size firms on Long Island. As her consultancy grew, she added marketing tools to her services, including Constant Contact. Soon after, Constant Contact recruited Ellen as one of 20 Regional Development Directors. While at Constant Contact, Ellen volunteered to assist with their Salesforce implementation, developing business use cases for her team and coordinating the roll-out with the internal Salesforce team.
Over the four years at Constant Contact, Ellen’s role changed from marketing to sales manager, which was no longer a good fit. After leaving Constant Contact Ellen continued to work in the marketing space and landed as Director of Operations at The Marketing Boutique, a neuromarketing agency. The one-year contract included SaaS selection and implementation along with content and web development responsibilities for several clients.
Upon the completion of her contract, Ellen launched The Data Chick and has spent the last year and a half working with select clients on business growth. She achieved a Data Analytics Certification from eCornell and Business Process Management Certification from AIIM.
Ellen is also a Continuing Education Instructor at Hofstra University, a professional public speaker, and a professional writer. Collectively she has presented to over 20,000 attendees and been published in over 50 magazines and websites.
